MedicalMissions.org Physician of the Year Award Honoring Those Who Serve the Underserved
Every day, medical volunteers across many specialties deploy around the world and help the medically underserved. The MedicalMissions.org Physician of the Year Award serves to honor physicians who dedicate their time and talents to medical mission work, in the United States and around the world.
MedicalMissions.org and LocumTenens.com will select two honorees in both the International and Domestic categories donating $10,000 on each honoree's behalf to his or her chosen not-for-profit medical mission cause.
To nominate a physician, click the button above and complete the web-based entry form. The deadline for entries is January 15, 2015. Self nominations are accepted. Additional supporting materials can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please be sure to include the name of the nominated physician with the supporting materials.
Eligibility & Rules
Nominated physicians should meet the following eligibility guidelines:
Nominated physicians must have been licensed to practice medicine in at least one state in the United States over the past three years.
Nominated physicians must have completed charitable medical mission work sometimes between June 2011 and the nomination deadline of January 15, 2015.
Nominators can submit more than one nominee.
Nomination forms should include as much specific information as possible about the nominated physician's charitable service.
Organizations receiving award money from honored physicians must submit documentation detailing their charitable service.
Organizations receiving award money from honored physicians must submit documentation detailing their charitable mission if not a 501(c)(3) organization.
Self-nominations will receive more weight if supported by a third-party testimonial and/or endorsement.
